Undercover Brother was so underrated. It was a spoof of Blaxploitation films from the 70's and I think it was much, much more funnie than any of the Austin Powers movies combined. I think the reason that it didn't make much money at the BO was because people that weren't black or had never watched a blaxplotation movie just didn't "get it".
The movie is soo hilarious and it doesnt matter whether you're black, white, asian, hispanic, etc you'd laugh uproariously at the movie.

Have we gotten so "PC" that everyone is afraid to laugh at jokes or comedy about certain races? Black people still make fun of white people and their idiosyncrasies and they make fun of themselves as well but it seems that the other half is so afraid to be deemed as "racist", they've forgotten how to let go and just laugh.

But speaking of Black movies, why don't people of other races see them? (Just like black romances). When you look at most generic movies, they aren't even about "race". A black person could have played that white persons role or vice versa. Or that asian person could have played that role as well.

Case in point: The Brothers. A movie about four black men and their love lives. It was a very good movie, but because the cast was black, people of other races automatically looked away. Do they do that because they think that black people only think about what stereotypical black people think about?(ie what they see in rap videos?). That's stupid because when you see a redneck or hick white person, everyone doesn't automatically think all white people are like that. It's puzzling. And sad as well.

But what is so great about The OC? I could get into One Tree Hill and I have watched a few episodes of The OC-when they first aired in the summer-but to me, it comes off as this Wanna-Dawson's Creek 90210-Be that falls a bit short. Personally, I'm tired of these "pretty white kids with problems" shows. Where are the rich black people?! Or other races! Come on...but that's enough of my race soapbox. I just want to know what is so great about this show? Is it Mischa Barton? Adam Brody? The storylines? The drama? what?

And I love Lindsey Lohan. Have ever since she was in the remake of my very favorite movie "The Parent Trap". But she has grown up and is soo cool. She's the type of girl I'd love to be friends with. I have a bit of catching up to do with her movies though because I want to see freaky Friday(which is also one of my favorite movies) as well as Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and I soooo want to see Mean Girls. Awesome Awesome Awesome.

I like Avril Lavigne's music, but when you look at the lyrics, they don't make much sense. Perhaps she was high when she wrote them?

It's a damn cold night
tryna figure out this life
won't you, take me by the hand
teach me something new
I don't know who you are
but I,
I'm with you.

That chorus doesn't make sense. She doesn't know who he is but she's with him? Man...Avril is a prime example of a song with dumb lyrics that are masked by a catchy melody. A few of her other songs read like that, but I still like the cd and am going to get her new one when it comes out.

And Britney Spears' new vid doesn't make sense either. I get the beginning. Her life sucks. But the fighting with Stephen Dorff as well as her having blood on the back of her head, her sinking into the water to kill herself, her running down the hospital halls and the baby being born next to her lifeless body are so...abstract. What is she trying to say? She wants to end her horrible life so that someone pure and new can be born? Strange...

And I can't wait to see the updates on America's Next Top Model. I watched this last season and LOVED it. I didn't watch the first season because I was on stroke from UPN on Tuesdays because Buffy was over, but this season just drew me in. I liked Yoanna from the beginning. She is so stunning. It's amazing how someone that stunning can exist. But Camille....what a head case! That girl kills me. The best moments where were they are acting with the acting coach and Camille makes up her own lines and hugs the actor instead of kissing him like she is supposed to. The other best moment is when they are in Milan and they go to the Go See's and when they are asked to walk, Camille does this crazy, over sexy walk and tells the designers "This is my signature walk for when I get famous. I am going to get famous with this walk." I was DYING when she said that. LMAO. But I just saw the previews for the updates on ANTM and Camille said she has to have bodyguards because she gets hate calls...rofl...but my mom thinks she's doing that for publicity...probably...

I'm listening to Dido's first cd. It reminds me of Roswell so much, especially the theme song as well as the bonus track "Take My Hand" that is soooo Max/Liz...I really miss that show. If it hadn't been cancelled, Roswell would have been in it's 5th season. It really makes you wonder what the show would have been like had it not been plagued by problems on and off the set. But I have reached this conclusion with the WB: whenever they get a similar show, they cancel that existing show. Right after they cancelled Roswell for the second time, they picked up Crapville(Smallville for you undiscerning folks) and now that they've picked up Dark Shadows, they cancelled Angel. It's like the bigwigs' brains are too small and they can't handle having too many similar shows on their network at one time. Idiots. Now that Angel is cancelled, it's the end of an era.

The era with Buffy, Dawson's Creek, Popular, etc. From 1998-2000 or 2001, the WB was the best network out there! And then, they started to try and get mainstream and cancelled the best shows. I really miss Jack and Jill. But what makes me mad is that they cancelled that show on a REALLY big cliffhanger(Jack and Jill deciding not to get married just yet because of all the pressure that they had one them and then Jack got pregnant.). I am still mad about that.

But I'm anticipating the season finale of Alias because I want to see Lauren die. I may in the minority here, but in the beginning-before they made Lauren and evil bitch-I liked the fact that she and Vaughn were married and there was this realistic conflict between them. And then JJ had to spring that contrieved storyline with Lauren being evil. Stupid stupid stupid. I mean, now, I like it because they didn't make Vaughn out to be the dumb husband and further rift his and Sydney's relationship, but that doesnt mean that I think the storyline is lame.

I'm really trying to put my Majandra Delfino site back online. But seeing as how the computer with the stuff on it is sort of busted and the one I'm working on wants to be a butthole and not read the discs in the A drive, I'm sort of stuck. I may just go to the library and send it in an email to myself from one of my other email addresses, but that'll have to wait. But getting back to my MD site, I know that it is the best and will always be because I have tons and tons of info and pictures that no one else has on account of my getting them a while ago from sites that have long since shut down. It makes me smug! Mwuahaha. But I still have my Buffy/Spike shipper site Poisonous Love up, I just haven't updated it in a very very long time for the same reasons I can't get my MD site up. I'm considering putting my Charisma Carpenter site back up but again, computer issues.

And I'm not gay-far from it-but I can't wait to see Charisma's Playboy photos. She has the best body in Hollywood and she is sooo underrated as an actress. But that's Hollywood. It's not about pretty faces or awesome figures-it's about who you know.

But anyways, I think that's it for now. Toodles.
